SAULT FEAR NO ONE
The enigmatic collective SAULT have just dropped a new record entitled 11, which is part of a collection of 5 albums that are "an offering to God". They are: (Untitled) God, 11, Aiir, Earth and Today & Tomorrow. Continuing with previous lyrical themes that mark the band, the newest record, 11, is a soulful celebration of spirituality, unity and love. There’s one track in particular that resonates deep, called ‘Fear No One’. featuring Jamaican vocalist Chronixx. Symbols are tapped gentle and fast imitating a light rain shower whilst the guitar moves groovily between two chords for the entirety of the song, accompanied by an understated dub-dyed bass line. Group vocals repeat the words ‘no one’ whilst Chronixx's lead vocal preaches the line ‘fear no one’ - the rhythmic repetition having a mantric effect; releasing positivity and manifesting the powerful message contained in the simple phrase. ‘Fear No One’ is not just a delightful listen, but also an energetically transformational piece of music. Listen to it here and be sure to check out the rest of SAULT’s new record 11. -Ellie Rose-Davies
